Social Media Marketing & Millennials
|
|
Event Details

This open focus group will
provide a glimpse into the minds of the illusive 18-24 year old college
students as they discuss how social media fits into their daily lives, how they
use it to communicate, how it impacts their purchasing decisions and where mobile
fits in.
The panel, moderated by Doug Akin, Chief Engagement Officer at Mr Youth, will showcase 6 local university students and their social media consumption habits. Audience participation is encouraged, so bring those marketing questions you’ve been dying to ask the perfect millennial guinea to bounce off this group. We are also accepting submissions online through February 3rd which our panel will address live at the session.
Questions can be submitted via:
Email: info@socialmediasociety.org
Facebook: www.facebook.com/socialmediasociety
Twitter: @soosocial1
A continental breakfast will be served prior to the panel.
MODERATOR
Doug Akin, Chief
Engagement Officer, Mr Youth
Doug Akin has always been a fast-talking
born-and-bred NY charmer with the gift of persuasion. So persuasive,
in fact, that he was even able to sell frogs from a roadside stand in
Connecticut as a child. As a college student, he used his quick thinking
to start Nulite Entertainment in 1998. There, he brought heart-stopping
events and parties to major college markets for the world’s hottest
brands.
In 2002, Doug joined up with Matt Britton,
a college friend from Boston University to pitch major brands on a new
approach to the market. After hundreds of energy drinks and thousands
of PPT slides later, Doug helped to turn Mr Youth into one of the most
sought after marketing agencies—last year, Mr Youth was named Social
Media Agency of the Year by Mashable's Open Web Awards and is a recent
member of the Inc. 500.
Today, Doug heads up new business efforts
for Mr Youth and develops social marketing campaigns and platforms for
clients such as Pepsi, Staples, Kellogg’s, Nike, T-Mobile, Johnson
& Johnson and Nestle. He leads the agency with creative passion
and whirlwind enthusiasm that make pitches positively electric and proves
he’s up for anything. Just don’t ask him to eat frogs’ legs (unless
they’re served at his much buzzed about NY restaurant, Charles).
